
Any music lover can attest to the confusion we always could not settle nor agree whiles trying to categorize some songs making waves. Most of our own artistes even end up being misinformed as to where they categorize their songs, some even fumble and fail to define the genre of music they choose for their songs.
There have being many deliberations as to where some of these genres come from and it’s quite intriguing hearing the process and dialogues that accompany it.
During such dialogues on “DayBreak Hitz” on Hitz Fm with Andy Dosty and his panelists on similar deliberations, Mark Okraku Mantey through a phone conversation took the mandate to school the public. Speaking lengthy he revealed that a Nigerian music legend and multi talented instrumentalist Fela Kuti is the originator of the Afro beat music genre and stated emphatically “There Is Nothing Like Afro-Pop In The Genres of Music Making”
